What to Wear for 4th of July
Hard to believe it’s almost the end of June, which means 4th of July festivities are just around the corner. The holiday calls for easy, festive style, whatever your plans. Whether you're poolside with friends, out on the water, hopping from a backyard BBQ to a daytime party, or ending the night under the fireworks, these looks are made to carry you through it all - effortlessly.
Here are my picks for different 4th of July occasions!
Daytime Looks:
I love how this Hill House mini dress is on theme and yet subtle for the 4th. The fit & flare silhouette is, in my opinion, pretty universally flattering too. Pair with light-tone sunglasses, baby blue heels to pick up the blue in the dress, simple jewelry (necklace & earrings) and a raffia bag like this Celine shoulder bag.
Another mini dress option, this one is from Frankies Bikinis. I love how this red dress looks paired with black accessories. The flat sandals with gold detailing tie in the simple gold jewelry, including emerald cut studs, an ornate locket and this vintage style ring. Pair with black sunglasses and a black summery bag with gold detailing (styled here with this beautiful Loewe bag as well as a more affordable Madewell bag).
This polka dot set from Amanda Uprichard gives this outfit a chic, tailored feel. Paired with black sunglasses, black bag and red shoes. I love the rope look of this necklace that pairs well with the neckline on this strapless top. Simple studs complete this look to keep the focus on the statement necklace.
I love the cut of this black Frankies Bikinis fit & flare mini dress. The v neck and fuller skirt balance out the eyelet center. Paired with a black bag, red sandals and light tone sunglasses here. With this neckline, I’d wear a pendant style necklace like this Chan Luu Pegasus charm necklace. I love this unique pearl bracelet and vintage looking ring.
Nightime Looks:
Staple white jeans, like these low-waisted, baggy Agolde jeans, pair nicely with this CAMI NYC red lace top. I love this simple black bag with gold detailing and how it ties in the gold detail on the black shoes as well. Simple gold jewelry finish this look (studs, necklace, bracelet).
For a more flirty going out look, I love this blue and brown striped halter neck top. The way it flows out in almost a babydoll style would look beautiful with this straight cut linen mini skirt. Style with some fun yet neutral heels, simple gold jewelry (bracelet and earrings) and a neutral summer bag (styled here with this Celine bag).
I’ve had my eye on this dress from the new Hill House collection since it dropped. The silhouette, length and pattern make it a great option for lots of different occasions.
Styled here with darker accessories for a more nighttime/dinner look but paired with more light-tone accessories and this is a perfect daytime look as well.
Poolside Looks:
Poolside plans call for swimwear with a subtle nod to the 4th. These chic, mix-and-match pieces feel festive without trying too hard.
All swimsuits from FAITHFUL the brand (aside from blue striped which is from SAME).
